With Queens at the heart of the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic, Commonpoint Queens is leading the way in providing critical food delivery, mental health services, and emergency childcare for frontline medical personnel, first responders, and essential workers.
This week alone we delivered 1800 prepared meals to homebound seniors. Next week we will deliver more. Our goal is to not turn away a single senior in need but we need your help.
Anxiety and stress are high, with many of our neighbors experiencing intense uncertainty and isolation. We remain the safety net for our most vulnerable neighbors providing thousands of food packages, hundreds of hours of teletherapy, virtual classrooms, and exercise classes to care for the minds, bodies, and souls of our community.
Because of the unprecedented crisis, our community is experiencing we are confronted with overwhelming need alongside significant unexpected costs: such as food for homebound seniors which rose 583.43%.
