Commonpoint Queens Workforce Division to Host Opportunity Youth Resource Fair

Queens, NY – As part of Commonpoint Queens’ Jack and Shirley Silver Hub’s Workforce Services, the human services organization’s Opportunity Youth programs support community members ages 16 to 24 who are disconnected from school and/or work. They offer a comprehensive GED program and various medical certification programs, including CNA, CMAA, Pharm Tech, and EKG/Phlebotomy.

Opportunity Youth Programs provide financial incentives, internship opportunities, case management, and career readiness classes to prepare participants to enter the workforce or college. They are currently enrolling new participants for the Fall semester, and will be hosting a Community Health and Resource Fair on August 25th, 2022 from 12:30-4:00pm.

The Resource Fair will highlight Commonpoint Queens and other non-profit organizations that promote health equity amongst community members. Some of the organizations featured include Flushing Meditation, FDNY, La Familia Boxing, and Legal Hand. Admission is free for all ages and walk-ins are welcome!
