Holocaust Survivor/Resilience Program

In March, the Resilience Program and CAPE (Community Advisory Program for the Elderly) hosted its inaugural event for Holocaust Survivors with a joyful Purim celebration: We ate hamentaschen and danced. April’s meeting featured a delicious bagel and lox brunch. The group hosts monthly events and is for Holocaust Survivors, their spouses, and children to meet over a meal and form a community.

The meetings provide Holocaust Survivors from throughout Queens and Nassau County an opportunity to come together in a comfortable and safe environment. In this informal setting, Survivors can participate in social and educational activities, and develop supportive relationships. We also welcome World War II liberators and special guests who come seeking service and friendship.
