Overview

CAP NORC Supportive Service Program offers social work and nursing services, educational and recreational services to all individuals 60 and over living in the Clearview Gardens Cooperative. NORC Supportive Service Programs are designed to serve communities where a majority of residents have “aged in place.” The program’s goal is to help elders remain safely in their own homes as long as possible.

Free services for Clearview Gardens residents include:

  • Social Work Services available in the CAP office or in your home including case management, assistance with entitlements, and information and referral services
  • Nursing Services provided by Visiting Nurse Service of New York available in the CAP office or in your home including blood pressure monitoring, patient advocacy, health and diet consultation
  • Telephone reassurance and food shopping assistance
  • Computer workshops, health education and fitness classes
  • Socialization opportunities and support groups, cards and games, and crafts, parties and special events, intergenerational programs with local schools
  • Day trips
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Transportation provided to medical appointments, local supermarkets and the CAP office
