Professional Boundaries and Ethics – Part 2 – Relationships with Clients*
Monday, May 15, 2023, 8:30AM – 10:30 AM, two contact hours
This course satisfies two hours of the new NYS CEU.

Instructors: Jane C. Bardavid, LCSW, Private Practice, Former Director, CAPE Mental Health Clinic
Debra Ilberman, LCSW, Assistant Vice-President of Mental Health Services, Commonpoint Queens
Jordana Davidson, LCSW, Program Director of Outreach and Clinical Services, CAPE; Administrative Supervisor, Commonpoint Queens Adolescent Clinic
Jeri Mendelsohn, LCSW, Consultant; Former Executive Vice-President & CEO, Samuel Field Y & Central Queens Y

We will continue our work on professional boundaries and ethics. With the completion of both the April 24th CEU on Online Considerations along with the second workshop focusing on Boundaries and Ethics in Relationships with Clients, the NYS CEU standard will be met. Boundary and ethical considerations play critical roles in the relationship between social workers and the people we serve, providing the limits that allow for supportive connections that are based on the client’s needs. How the worker sets the ethical boundaries and expectations of the relationship will manifest itself in responses regarding gifts, use of self and intentional and unintentional sharing between worker and client, as well as relationships following the termination of services. Each instructor will provide case examples, pose ethical dilemmas, and discuss this significant, evolving element in maintaining professional boundaries and ethical practice.

This session will take place virtually and pre-registration is required.  If you’d like to register for a class, please fill out our form and submit payment below.
