Children with autism are five times more likely to be obese and three times more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes.

With April being Autism Awareness month, help Commonpoint Queens raise awareness to this important issue by participating in a fitness activity of your choosing! Take a walk and track your distance, test your stamina and see how many push-ups or sit-ups you can do, get creative and break out the hula-hoop or jump rope, or go to the park and shoot hoops, score soccer goals, or see how far you can throw a ball. All that matters is that you participate in an activity that you enjoy and demonstrate the importance of fitness for our community!

We will be accepting submissions between April 16th and April 25th. We will then post pictures the week of April 26th!

Go to to share with us how you participated and upload pictures or videos of your activities, or tag/DM us on Instagram at @commonpointqueens with the hashtag #active4autism.
