Our Israel Independence Day celebration will be marked this year by two lunchtime screenings of Israeli short films, April 29 and May 6. These films feature different aspects of everyday life in Israel. Each week we’ll show three short films. In one short film, a young pregnant woman uses an unusual way to face her fears about the next phase of her life. In another, a young man returns from military service but is haunted by traumatic experiences. In a third, an Israeli soldier forms an unlikely connection with a Palestinian boy over social media. Each of our films tells a very full story, with a hint of how much lies beneath the surface, all within the limits of the art of the short film.

Each program will be followed by a brief interactive discussion.

This program will be available via Zoom and will be interactive. Event is $5 per person. Please click here to register and we will email you a live link on the day of each event. A full list of speakers and films can be found at https://www.commonpointqueens.org/program/cultural-arts-and-jewish-heritage-events/.
