Coming to the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in 2021…
Join your friends at Commonpoint Queens, the Friedberg JCC, Gural JCC and the Suffolk Y JCC for a NEW adventure at Island Quest Day Camp!
This exciting venture brings together the strengths, resources, and expertise of four separate camps to inspire a summer you’ll never forget. Rooted in decades of shared experience and strong Jewish values, Island Quest is everything that you love about camp, combined with opportunities to create the ultimate camp adventure.
To accompany this new camp program we’re thrilled to share that there will also be major additions to HKC, including the construction of an aquatics complex with three pools, new sports fields and courts, and major upgrades to our familiar shelters.
Where Will Your Quest Take You?
Island Quest offers an innovative approach to choice-based experiences that allows our campers to choose their “Quest” (area of focus) each week. Summer 2021 will introduce three core Quests – Seek, Compete, and Innovate, each encouraging campers to dream big, seek solutions, and discover their true self. Whether you want to fly across a zipline, make the game winning assist, or turn your recycled art into a robot, you can design a path that’s perfect for you! Every experience is unique. Every day is something new. Every adventure shapes your future. To learn more about each Quest and our Summer 2021 program, click here.

A Quest for Every Age…
Island Quest empowers children of all ages to grow their interests and gives them the rare opportunity to create their own adventure.
Our Travelers (Pk-2nd grade) sample offerings from each of the unique Quests we have to offer. Along our Innovate, Compete, and Seek pathways, we teach campers how to make choices and encourage them to learn more about what they love.
Our Adventurers (Grades 3-6) choose their own Quests each week. They spend 2-3 periods every day in their quest of choice and spend the rest of their day enjoying swimming and other fun group activities. With the freedom to blaze their own path, campers enjoy a more in-depth experience unique to their particular interests.
Our Voyagers (Grades 7-10) experience a whirlwind of adventures combining local and overnight trips to popular destinations with the magic of camp. Throughout thrilling community-based learning and personalized journeys, our voyagers have the opportunity to both enjoy immersive camp-based activities and explore exciting new destinations
