Commonpoint Queens has been providing a memorable summer camp experience to thousands of children and young adults in Queens and Western Nassau counties since 1954. Since its inception, we have been dedicated to giving all campers the opportunity to establish life long friends, learn new skills, gain independence and achieve self-confidence.

Island Quest Day Camp at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds
(for children ages 4-14)

Island Quest brings together the strengths, resources, and expertise of 4 separate camps to inspire a summer you’ll never forget. NEW! Tennis Camp at Alley Pond
(for children ages 6-15)
Commonpoint Queens Tennis & Athletic Center at Alley Pond Park will be offering tennis camp for kids ages 6-15 years old. The camp will provide instruction, drills and match play by our highly qualified USPTA Certified Coaches.
We also offer off-court cross training fun activities to supplement campers tennis skills. These activities will include soccer, basketball and a widely spreading sport, pickleball. Campers will also swim twice a week at the Tanenbaum Family Pool.

Explorer Day Camp
(for children ages 4-14)
Explorer Day Camp is an enrichment summer camp where children ages 4-14 grow and develop through sports, art, music, science and more. We empower campers to build their OWN camp program. The campers thank us later.
Explorer Day Camp offers a variety of subjects to awaken your child’s many interests. Campers explore individual talents, try new activities, make new friends, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! Campers will enjoy access to the high-quality facilities and fields of Forest Hills High School and will have the opportunity to swim daily at the exclusive Bay Terrace Pool Club.

Explorer Day Camp at the Queens County Farm Museum
(for children ages 5-14)
We’re thrilled to partner with the Queens County Farm Museum for a unique experience, connecting the expertise of Explorer Day Camp with unique STEM curriculum and a 47-acre urban farm!
This special summer program allows young people the opportunity to explore the natural outdoor setting and take part in daily lessons about farm-centered activities provided by expert staff. Campers enjoy exciting and specialized activities such as Nature Walks, Farming, and Scavenger Hunts as well as traditional summer camp programming like Arts & Crafts, Sports, Theme Days and Games.

Summer of Arts and Sports
(for children ages 6-11)
The Summer of Arts & Sports camp program is the Commonpoint Queens’ Central Queens on site premier summer camp. Campers begin their morning with our extensive program which includes swim, basketball, soccer, baseball, gymnastics, yoga, and fitness games on assigned weeks throughout the season. Your child’s creative core will be nourished with an afternoon of Education, Art, Music, Dance and Drama. Our specialists provide each child with the tools to discover and create. Our program also includes trips, and on site special events.

Sababa Beach Camps
(for children ages 10-18)
Sababa means “No Worries,” and that’s exactly how our campers feel when they’re exploring ocean life in our program. What sets Sababa apart from other camps is its specialty programming that focuses on surfing, sailing, scuba, and seaside media. With truly unique specialty programming, the staff has built a stellar reputation for their commitment to helping young people grow their best sense of self, build meaningful relationships, immerse themselves in passionate pursuits, and stoke their innate spiritual flame. Camp Poyntelle (Sleepaway Camp in Wayne County, Pennsylvania)

Camp Poyntelle has been making children’s summer dreams come true since 1947. As a premier Jewish summer camp, we offer a traditional sleepaway experience filled with amazing memories, lasting friendships and nurturing and compassionate staff. Nursery Camp
(for children ages 2-5)
Welcome to Nursery Camp – a first encounter with the world of camping for children 2 years – 5 years old. At our Camp we provide a nurturing, educational and fun environment. With offerings in Bayside, Forest Hills and Little Neck, our program consists of weekly themes, highlighted by special events such as professional entertainment and a special lunch each month for those who attend every day. Outdoor and indoor play activities are designed to increase motor skills and to encourage socialization opportunities. Our daily swim program is facilitated by a certified water safety instructor, and all children are assessed prior to entering the pool.
We understand the special needs of our Nursery age children and have designed a choice of program schedules.

End of Summer Mini Camps
(for children entering kindergarten through 6th grade)
Summer fun doesn’t have to end when camp is over! We’re excited to be hosting a series of mini camps and skills clinics from August 21 through September 1 so your children can continue to make friends, stay active, learn new skills, and enjoy their summer to the fullest.
For summer 2023, we are proud to offer full day programs for children entering kindergarten through 6th grade at our Central Queens, Sam Field, and Bay Terrace sites with a fun mix of trips and swim, sports, and interactive activities.

Special Services Summer Day Camp
Our day camps specialize in serving children 5-21 who have developmental disabilities. Campers have the adventure of full day summer camp experiences at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds with occasional field trips. For more information please contact Lisa Armband at [email protected]
Summer Respite
This youth summer after school program serves children with developmental disabilities ages 5 – 21. Children participate in an array of educational, recreational and socialization activities following their summer school program including swimming, creative arts, culinary arts, STEM, physical fitness, theme days, and more. The summer program is offered 2 – 5:30 PM daily.
