Commonpoint Queens to partner with Queens Borough President Richards and Queens Chamber of Commerce
to Host Job Fair in Forest Hills

Job Fair

In its continued efforts to return community members from crisis to stability, Commonpoint Queens is hosting a job fair on Wednesday, December 1 from 3pm to 7pm at its Central Queens location (67-09 108th Street, Forest Hills). The job fair is in partnership with Queens Borough President Donovan Richards and the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

Whether looking to land a new job or switch careers, jobseekers will have the opportunity to interface with over 60 businesses that are currently hiring across all sectors. Companies include Amazon, Northwell Health, Workforce1, Hyatt, FedEx, New York & Atlantic Railway, and more, with industries like business administration, hospitality, health care, foodservice, transportation and more being represented.

“Connecting Queens’ top-notch talent with available job opportunities is at the heart of our economic recovery as we build a stronger, fairer borough post-pandemic, and our office is proud to partner with Commonpoint Queens and the Queens Chamber of Commerce to host this comprehensive job fair,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Jr. “If you’re looking to get hired or change careers, we look forward to connecting you with the dozens of companies across a wide array of industries we’ll have on hand on December 1 in Forest Hills.”

“The Queens Chamber of Commerce prides itself on the partnerships we have throughout Queens County and we are thrilled to partner with Commonpoint Queens on this job fair initiative,” says Thomas J. Grech, President & CEO, Queens Chamber of Commerce.

“The pandemic has been devastating for our community in so many ways. As community leaders, it is all of our responsibilities to ensure that our neighbors have access to meaningful jobs that pay a living wage,” said Danielle Ellman, CEO of Commonpoint Queens. “We’re grateful for this opportunity to partner with the Queens Borough President and the Queens Chamber of Commerce, two of the most well-established and resourceful institutions in our great borough.”

In the Fall of 2020, as part of UJA’s Upward New York initiative, Commonpoint Queens launched a brand new Employment Hub in Elmhurst, Queens. The Hub provides career services such as job training and job placement (including Information Technology Training with Per Scholas), career counseling, digital literacy, work readiness workshops, Pre-HSE and HSE programs, college access and so much more.

This no cost event will be held in person and is open to the public. Proof of vaccination and masks are required. Pre-registration is required at www.commonpointqueens.org/jobfair21.
