Deliver meals and groceries on behalf of Commonpoint Queens

Queens, NY — Commonpoint Queens – formerly known as the Samuel Field Y and Central Queens Y – staff continue to deliver more and more meals and groceries to homebound seniors. New York State Assemblywoman Nily Rozic and New York State Committee Woman for Assembly District 40 Sandra Ung helped deliver meals and groceries to homebound seniors earlier this week.

Commonpoint Queens CEO, Danielle Ellman says, “We are very grateful to the staff, volunteers, and elected officials who are supporting our efforts ensuring no one goes to bed hungry. We have seen the need for meals rise from 40 the week of March 16th to almost 3000 this week alone.”

“Every week, Commonpoint Queens is at the forefront of getting meals to seniors across Queens during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D, WF-Queens). “I’m grateful to them and the many volunteers who helped out and made sure the entire process was safe, effective, and seamless.”
