Overview

Commonpoint Queens is proud to offer programs specifically designed to meet the social, emotional, educational, and recreational needs of children with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities. An individual interview is required for each of these programs so that our professional team can welcome your child and assist in the selection of programs that would be most successful

Special Services After School Program

This after school care program is for children with developmental disabilities ages 5-21. Groups meet daily after school under the direction of professionally supervised staff. New York City Board of Education transportation is provided from school to the Sam Field Center, and van transportation may be provided by the Sam Field Center to the child’s home at the end of the day.

School Holiday Program

We provide children with developmental disabilities with an exciting assortment of trips to places of interest on most school holidays and vacations throughout the year. Interview required. Weekend Teen

A once monthly recreational program that meets on Sunday afternoons geared for high functioning and independent teens with developmental disabilities. Contact Natalie Palermo at npalermo@Commonpointqueens.org

Spring Evening Programs

Pitch Perfect (Mondays)
Learn melodies that will rock your socks off! This program promotes self expression and creativity, improved mood and emotional wellbeing, physical relaxation, and stress reduction.

8 weeks beginning March 18
6:15-7:15pm
$200

Soccer Stars
Learn the skills and drills you need to become a soccer star. This class teaches good sportsmanship and team building. Participants have a fun trophy night at the end of the semester!

8 weeks beginning March 19
6:15-7:15pm

Comets Cheerleading (Wednesdays)
Socialize, improve coordination and flexibility, and build physical endurance while learning to cheer! This program provides a sense of belonging, and as a bonus, participate in a fun trophy night!

8 weeks beginning March 20
6:15-7:15pm
$200

Cheffin’ It Up (Thursdays)
Learn simple recipes and kitchen safety while enjoying tasty treats! This helps improve fine motor skills.

8 weeks beginning March 21
6:15-7:15pm
