Overview

We are excited to announce the opening of our Youth Sports and Dance classes for Spring from Tuesday, April 2 through Friday, June 21, 2024! Our dynamic instructors will guide your child to reach their full potential through engaging and age-appropriate sports curriculum. Registration begins March 1st – space is limited!

Pickleball

The national Pickleball craze has reached Little Neck! Don’t let your kids miss out on learning how to play the fastest growing sport in America. Players will learn to combine the skills of tennis, racquetball and ping-pong while advancing their fitness and agility. No prior experience necessary. Pickleball equipment will be provided.

Gaga

Get ready to dodge, strike, run and jump in our new Gaga class! In this iconic summer camp game, players will be organized into teams and play the dodgeball-like sport indoors in our octagonal Gaga pit under the supervision of our youth sports instructors. No prior experience necessary.

Flag Football

Pass and catch for touchdowns just like your favorite NFL players in our Flag Football class. Participants will learn the game of the gridiron in addition to the skills that lead to dominating the competition.

Soccer Skills Clinic

Our experienced and enthusiastic soccer coaches teach children the fundamentals of soccer – from balancing and kicking to coordination and agility. Children work on skills, game play and having a positive team experience.

Little Stars

Our Little Stars class is designed to promote the development of gross motor skills in children ages 3 and 4. Children will participate in sports-related skills that promote balance, hand-eye coordination, body control and muscle development through activities involving running, jumping, throwing, balancing and lateral movements.

Commonpoint Queens Basketball Academy

Jr. NBA Basketball Skills Clinics

These clinics are designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball for all players. The main focus of the clinic is conditioning, skill-specific drills, and scrimmage games. Sportsmanship, defense/offense, footwork, and strategy will also be included. Classes are co-ed.

Details About Our Sports and Dance Classes

All classes will take place indoors at the Sam Field Center, 58-20 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck NY 11362.

  • Youth sports and dance classes take place one time per week.
  • For all sports classes, please wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes. For all dance classes, dress requirements will be communicated before the semester begins.
  • Parents/Caregivers are not allowed to stay in the gymnasium during class time.
  • For all Sam Field sports & dance classes, please drop off and pick up at the front door.
  • Free on-street parking is available around the facility.
  • 7 Week class is $140 members / $175 non-members
  • 8 Week class is $160 members / $200 non-members
  • 9 Week class is $180 members / $225 non-members
  • 11 Week class is $220 members / $275 non-members
  • Member prices are applicable for youth who are currently enrolled in a Commonpoint Queens Early Childhood, Camp, or After School program (20% per child on each of their registrations – please use the code MEMDIS@SFC) or have a family membership at Commonpoint Queens (discount should be automatically applied). We also offer a 5% Sibling Discount (5% per child on each of their registrations – please use the code SIBDIS@SFC). Insurance is included in the fee. 
    Discounts must be applied in the shopping cart before you pay.

If you would like to apply an existing Commonpoint Queens Household Credit to class or program registration fees, please contact HFDesk@commonpointqueens.org or call (718) 268-5011 ext. 500 for assistance BEFORE enrollment.

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to HFRefund@commonpointqueens.org.

  • Before the first class is held, 100% refund minus $20 administrative fee.
  • After the first class is held, 90% refund of the remaining unused portion minus $20 administrative fee.
  • After 2nd class is held, a 50% refund of the remaining unused portion minus $20 administrative fee.
  • No refunds or credits after the 3rd class is held.
  • Should you choose to take a Commonpoint Queens credit, the administrative fee will be waived.
  • Each participant is entitled to one make-up per semester for a class missed due to illness.
  • To request a make-up class, please send an email to hfdesk@commonpointqueens.org and include a doctor’s note related to the absence.
  • Please note, since some classes are held only one time per week, we may try to accommodate a make-up request by offering a spot in a different sports or dance class during the current semester.
