Swim Classes and Lessons

We offer 45 minutes swim classes designed to stimulate interest and motivate students to advance to the next section.

We are excited to announce that the Central Queens pool is open as of September 30! Lap swimming for members is now available (click here to reserve your swim time), and we will begin swim classes October 18. For more information on health and safety protocols, click here.

The Red Cross has established swimming lessons for kids and adults that allow everyone the opportunity to learn in a safe environment, at their own pace. The Learn-to-Swim Program focuses on building skills one step at a time. By giving participants the opportunity to master one element before advancing on to the next, our swim classes make it easy to build confidence in the water. There are five levels in this program that offer a wide variety of activities. Skills taught include: personal safety, rescue skills, diving skills, and stroke skills. Each level is designed to stimulate interest and motivate students to advance to the next section.
